About our practice

When I was young, I was fascinated with the questions – Why we are all here? Why is it that all of what we see exists? This curiosity motivated me to get into the medical field. I have been practicing medicine for over 20 years, but over the course of this experience, I quickly realized that there was a significant lesson left out in my medical schooling and training: how to be HEALTHY!

Through the years, and out of my insatiable quest to find this answer to help myself, my family and my patients, I realized that in order to understand health we have to understand life. What is life? That has been the question humans have asked for millennia. But for the purposes of my discussion, life is energy. The more energy we have the more healthy we become.

But where do we get this energy from? Well, we get it from the sun and the earth through a very special little organ inside our cells called the MITOCHONDRIA. They access this energy either directly from the sun and the earth, or more commonly indirectly from a storage form we call food. Indeed, these little organs are the vessels that translate information and energy from our environment and transform it into the currency that our bodies understand, the very type that our bodies recognize and use to play the symphony of life.

Why am I telling you all of this? Because I want all of us, you and me, to be healthy. To live a long, joyful, vibrant life full of accomplishments and rid of disease. This has become complex in today’s world. Modernity has introduced elements that ruin our little vessels for life. Blue light, Wi-Fi, 5g, processed foods, trans fats, inactivity – all of these things ruin our mitochondria in such a way that they lose their ability to translate properly. When this happens, chaos ensues. Through the years, and after all the research and experience I have gathered, I have come to a very solid conclusion: The more connected to nature we are, the more energy we obtain and keep, and therefore, the more HEALTHY we become.

I started SOLYMAR Direct Health to provide individualized care according to your specific needs. Primary care is built on the long-term relationship between clinicians and patients.
